Cannabis Whipped Cream
Ideal Pairings: Hot Chocolate and Espresso Drinks (think Mochas!)
This way of infusing drinks with cannabis takes its inspiration from the process of absorbing THC and other therapeutic cannabinoids in fats.
And of course, whipped cream is full of milk fat. This makes it an ideal “carrier” for your cannabis.
Any drink you can top with whipped cream can become a cannabis-infused beverage. The recipe takes a minute, but it’s well worth the effort.

- large mixing bowl
- a weed grinder
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 7 grams of cannabis
- 1 tsp. natural vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp. powdered sugar
The process of making your cannabis-infused whipped cream is fairly straightforward.
Start by grinding up the cannabis into a fine powder. This is a good chance to use up some leftover shake if you have it.
Spread the ground up weed on a clean baking sheet and bake it at 225 degrees for about 30 minutes.
Bring the cream to just boiling and slowly mix in the cooked, ground cannabis.
What you’re doing is decarboxylating the cannabis, which activates its cannabinoids. Then, you mix the activated cannabis with fat — the heavy cream — which absorbs the THC, CBD, and terpenes from the plant. The THC dissolves in the fat, like sugar in water.
After 20 minutes or so, the heavy cream should have absorbed most of the THC and other compounds. Remove from heat and let it cool. Then use the cheesecloth to squeeze out the plant material.
Put the cannabis-infused cream mixture in the ‘fridge until cold. Once it’s chilled, toss it in the large mixing bowl and whip the cream to your desired texture. Slowly beat in the vanilla and sugar. Gentle is key.
Next, whip up a quick mug of hot cocoa and spoon some of your cannabis whipped cream on top. Treat yourself to a side of strawberries and dip them in the whipped cream. There’s no limit the to delicious things you can do with your cannabis whipped cream!
