Cannabis Slows Down the Aging Process, Here’s How

I’m sure this article got your attention because let’s face it, nobody likes getting old. And this, coupled with the fact that there is not much which can be done to slow down the overall process of aging can make everything else more stressful than it actually has to be.

Nevertheless, it’s a reality we all have to face somehow, we will all get old one day and there’s nothing much we can do against this, unless, of course, if we use cannabis. Why this article then? Well, as I said, we will get old but note, I never said it will all happen on schedule. There are very effective ways in which you can use cannabis to slow down the aging process.

The way cannabis works is by being a preventative medicine against some health conditions that speeds up the aging process in a person.

To explain how exactly this happens, I will start by speaking of the endocannabinoid system that is part of our body. In cannabis, there are the two cannabinoids, THC and CBD and these cannabinoids can help enhance the endocannabinoid system in the body which will help a long way in slowing the overall aging process in a person.

In case you are not familiar with what the endocannabinoid system is, here is a brief description on it; the endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a group of endogenous cannabinoid receptors located in the mammalian brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems, consisting of neuromodulatory lipids and their receptors. In some cases, this system can be referred to as the body’s own cannabinoid system.

Sometimes, we are busy going out there in search of invasive solutions that will help enhance our health such as invasive surgery, Botox and special diets but the solution is right there in front of us and it is cannabis. Here are some of the ways in which using cannabis can help slow down the aging process.

Before I go on, I’m sure you’re pretty familiar with some very common signs of aging some of which include but are not limited to wrinkles, grey hair, and saggy skin. Although these changes are prominent and visible, there are some that are invisible such as brain and cell aging.

When brain aging starts occurring in a person, it leads to a resultant conditions of neurodegenerative disorders, the most common one’s being Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s. While cannabis will not slow down the overall process of the brain’s aging, it will go a long way in preventing against such neurological disorders whose impact is enhanced by old age. You might be asking, what if someone has already been affected by such conditions, can cannabis help reverse them? The simple answer to that is yes. Cannabis can reverse the effects of aging on the brain.

Another way in which cannabis slows down the aging process in a person is by preventing the aging signs that appear on a person’s skin. This is because cannabis contains some very powerful antioxidants that will clean your skin from the dangerous environmental pollutants in the air and the radicals formed inside the skin.

In addition to enhancing the skin, cannabis also helps slow down the aging process by enhancing the health of your heart and preventing against heart conditions such as arteriosclerosis, heart attacks and strokes. The international journal of cardiology last year said that endocannabinoid deficiencies are likely to contribute to heart failure.

If you want to age but make the process slower, then cannabis should be your go to agent for this.
