The basic difference between medical and non medical marijuana is its use. When you smoke weed for recreational purposes, you are not putting it to good use. However, when you use weed to treat ailments, it is for medical needs.

Despite all the rumors, medical or non medical marijuana has not been tested to do miracles. Yes, there are researches going on, however, none have yet proved the medical benefits of marijuana. Medical marijuana can be used for pain remediation, or certain issues related to multiple sclerosis, glaucoma or cancer.

Presently, several of the US states are modifying their legislations to allow the use of marijuana for medical purposes. Ohio has recently joined the states in their petition and approval. Unfortunately, cannabis is illegal in US in federal level, and there is very little reputable research being carried out on the healing herb presently.
